Luke as seen during the battle of Yavin. This was a commission from C2E2 in Chicago this year. I can’t believe I didn’t think to ink the MOST important pilot from the battle of Yavin. “Let go Luke”
Rebel Pilots: Round 2

Some more pilots. These are from Green and Red squadrons. I experimented with a different paper this time, Bristol Board. I liked the way the paper in the last series held the ink. The Bristol Board I used this time would tend to soak the ink up uneven and would get splotchy. Harder to control than the rag paper I used in the last four.

Procrastinating, again, but came up with a nice little portrait of Hulk. I want to add some clenched fists to it or something. It needs something else…

Here is some progress on the Probe Droid I promised! Just having fun with these.
Here I m just laying down the darks and some quick loose detail and dropping in the snow. Next I m going to go back into it and pop out some of the more important details.

Okay, well I have been on a bit of a Star Wars kick lately and I had a little down time in the studio today while I was preparing some other canvases. I remembered I had a couple of these 8×10 gesso boards just laying around so I dropped a quick sketch of the Probe Droid from the beginning of Empire and put down a quick acrylic wash. This ought to be some fun! I ll keep you posted as I continue!

Zombie Park

…and Goonies. Yeah, more Goonies. Well the assignment here was to Mash-Up Zombies with Steven Spielberg. So I did a triple mash-up.
The first I mashed up Jurassic Park with Goonies…but made the Goonies zombies.
I also think Muldoon is the toughest cat in the movie. It was unfortunate that he dies here in this scene, but his sacrifice gave us one of the best scenes in the movie. My hats off to you Muldoon.
